Sand Trax

Wendy Kwan

North American West Coast beaches. Isolation and serenity.

The many who live here, the force of elements, or even remnants of their being.

On one of these magnificent stretches of beach, you may believe you are alone, but others stir.

Sand Trax explores marks of the natural world, like language in the sand to ponder and turn the  imagination.

Marks shaped by wind, by pressure, by tide. Marks sculpted with respect to present objects.

Marks that remind us of something else.

Marks that interplay – one upon the other.

The beach as canvas, nature has drawn her art, or spoken to us.

All to be swept clean at the next high tide. The canvas clear to start again.
