On Edge presents a view down from the upper floor of the Montana Hotel in Bannack Ghost Town Montana. I was attracted to the confusing play of space at the top of the staircase, and also reminded of the precarious conditions that existed for people of the Bannack community. Photographed in Fall 2008, as modern economy – and therefore the stability of society – continued to spiral into a precarious state, I found myself wondering about our own fragile edge.
