Day 10 - Canyonlands Recreation Area - Our new 4Runner's 4WD Christening

The Greater Utah Agnostic Mantis. Never prays. Very rare.

There's plenty of arches and no crowds out on the slickrock. Gotta have a 4WD, though. And dogs are welcome here!

Welcome to cliff house! These dwellings were occcupied in relatively recent times. Complete with box springs and sofas inside!

The fabled lost city of Potash, Shangri-La of the Colorado Gorge. If you leave it behind, you will never find it again.

The dreaded salt mines of the Colorado Gorge, where thousands have perished in the pursuit of table salt.

Cowboy outpost, vital components.

This cliff house is still used by local cowboys as a storage facility.

The Fence at the End of the Universe. Ain't no restaurant here, neither.

spot the SUV

It's always a little strange when you suddenly realize your picnic table is staring back at you.

Russ tests the fence to make sure it's stable enough. It was. Whew!!

The fence is truly an engineering feat all to itself - you could even consider it a cool art installation.
