Day 30 - Here's That Rainy Day in the Russian River Valley

Prowling the caves at De La Montanya winery. This has got to be the dream job - up to yer armpits in 2011 Zinfandel. Literally. The grapes were harvested last Wednesday, rested on lees until Sunday when yeast was added. Now, we wait. There are 40 cases in that vat - certainly enough to make me very happy. Oh yeah, Dennis De La Montanya was driving the camera for this shot, after pouring wine for us until we begged him to stop. Pretty much the same thing happened on our last visit a couple of years ago, except it was Dennis' brother Steve doing the pouring.
