I find it amusing that this particular beach always, every day, fills to the brim with photographers about 20 minutes before sunset. Where do they all come from? Why do they all need to have the same picture?
The inevitable jousting for the famous, perfect tripod spot. The beach actually has three permanent holes worn in it at the precise famous spot. The local environmentalists are appalled.
Crap!! It is impossible to get a picture without a photographer being in it.
Not even having two tripods will get the other photographers out of your shot. I still am not clear about the utility of the second tripod, other than you look super-cool, suave and rich to have TWO carbon-fiber tripods.
