With weather closing in, our afternoon on this remote stretch of north Oregon beach was fast coming to a close. Emma Brown Sock, our Shetland sheepdog, always likes to keep an eye on both Russ and I, a good challenge for her, as we often become separated by some distance as we wander and photograph. Here Emma waits attentively as Russ makes his way down the beach. We made it to our vehicle just as the first big sloppy drops of rain fell.
